Fruit tree borer and other lepidopteran insects have a very high tolerance to Imidacloprid insecticides regardless of the formulation or deliver methods used.

This tree was previously trunk injected with Imidacloprid on May 26th 2005, treatment focused primarily elm leaf beetle, and residual chemistry was still giving good results on ELB at season’s end in 2007.

Imidacloprid had little effect in controlling FTB this has been replicated on many different tree species with the same outcome.

Re injected again on May 1st 2007 using chemistries that are effective against lepidopteran insects, note that the borer damage in all instar stages has ceased and new callous tissue is growing.

Elmsavers has been successfully treating both Elm leaf Beetle and Fruit Tree Borer on both private and municipal trees for many years our treatments are guaranteed accordingly.
